AGS's breadth of experience in the development of primary and delegated legislation is unrivalled. We advise on all constitutional and other legal aspects of policy and legislative proposals. We assist with preparing drafting instructions and explanatory materials, as well as with other elements of the drafting process. We work closely with the Office of Parliamentary Counsel. Where appropriate, we can provide drafting services ourselves.
We also assist with the passage of legislation through Parliament, including preparing explanatory memoranda and undertaking other legal tasks aiding the implementation of regulations and their legislative instruments. Our lawyers are regularly outposted to agencies to assist with developing legislation and to advise on legal aspects of the policy underlying legislation.
