AGS lawyers have extensive experience in the regulatory, constitutional and commercial aspects of the energy and resources sector. This includes a solid understanding of related legislation. We are familiar with major developments in the electricity and gas industries over recent years and the related industry structures.

In recent projects we have:

• provided advice to the Australian Greenhouse Office
• provided significant work on the corporatisation of the Snowy Mountains Hydro Electric Authority
• acted as probity auditors in the sale of South Australia’s electricity assets
• assisted with the privatisation of the Moomba to Sydney gas pipeline authority
• AGS is the key legal adviser on the establishment of a system of offshore titles authorising the geosequestration of carbon dioxide in seabed reservoirs
• Acting for the Victorian Essential Services Commission in relation to licensing issues concerning gas and electricity retail, distribution and generation licences.
