AGS has assisted the Department of Defence with
several recent key initiatives and provided significant
commercial, litigation, legislative and strategic
advice to the portfolio. Major matters have included:
Headquarters Joint Operations Command: We
provided extensive advice on legislation, agreements,
and procurement issues, and negotiated outcomes in
relation to the development of the new ADF Headquarters
facility.
New Air Combat Capability project: We continued
to assist in negotiating government-to-government
agreements relating to the future production and
sustainment of the Joint Strike Fighter.

support: We advised Defence on a range of alliance
contract issues.
Air 9000: We provided procurement and commercial
advice on issues relating to the evaluation and negotiation
of offers for new helicopter platforms.

assisted the Corporate Services and Infrastructure
Group with several of its regional procurements for
new services contractors.

for Defence in several matters arising from the tragic
fire on board HMAS Westralia in 1989, including Commonwealth
v ADI Limited & Ors (Federal Court), claims
under the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation
Act 1988, and other related claims and advice.
F-111 deseal/reseal claims: We helped with
the assessment and management of liability issues
arising from work in sealing the interior of F-111
fighter aircraft fuel tanks.

a new framework for the provision of childcare services
for ADF and Defence civilian personnel Australia
wide.
