IP Forum Case Studies
The case studies are a key part of AGS’s annual
IP forums. They are reproduced here to provide an
indication of what the forums cover and as food for
thought on current IP issues of broad interest.
Each case study is in two parts: a ‘Case Study
Exercise’, which is distributed to participants
in advance of the forum, and the ‘Case Study
Answers’, which is provided at the end of the
forum. A special debriefing is held 2–3 working
days after the forum, in which participants can further
discuss the answers.
The case studies are designed primarily to be experienced
rather than merely read.
For those who wish to merely read the case studies,
it is suggested that you work through the ‘Exercise’ version
before checking your responses against the ‘Answers’ version.
The case studies follow a continuing plot line. The facts
they describe are fictional. The legal issues are
real.
