of administrative decisions and action, Ombudsman, public
administration and accountability (including good decision-making
and natural justice).
AGS is recognised as the Australian Government’s
leading lawyers in all aspects of administrative law. A
substantial portion of our legal work is in this area,
and our specialist lawyers work daily with clients to help
them understand and apply the laws so departmental or agency
business runs smoothly.
We work with clients to identify and manage their administrative
legal risks, provide practical legal advice on problems,
develop strategies and procedures for their work, and defend
their decisions and conduct.
Our expertise covers administrative law principles and
decision-making, freedom of information, privacy, Ombudsman
inquiries and records management. We provide legal advice,
assistance and representation before the courts and the
Administrative Appeals Tribunal.
We provide administrative law services to Australian Government
departments, statutory authorities and government business
entities.
