SOCIAL POLICY AND ENTITLEMENTS
With strengths in: benefits,
pensions and welfare issues, child support, education
issues and veterans’ issues.
We understand the importance of the Australian Government’s
social policy initiatives for Australians and are familiar
with the legislative framework under which they are implemented.
We understand the broader government policy and administrative
context of these initiatives.
The Australian Government’s social responsibility
includes developing and implementing a wide range of pensions,
benefits and services under the social security law, the
family assistance law and the Veterans’ Entitlements
Act 1986. Examples include Age Pension, Newstart Allowance,
Family Tax Benefit and Service Pension.
As a specialist government legal adviser across every
portfolio, AGS has a wealth of experience on policy development
and service delivery issues.
A number of our clients have significant social policy
and service delivery obligations. We work regularly with
clients such as the Department of Health and Ageing, the
Department of Education, Science and Training, and the
Department of Family and Community Services.
