OFFICES
With offices in every capital city, the Australian Government
Solicitor has a strategic and integrated approach to delivering
services across the nation. Our business network has four
distinct organisational elements that have a strong focus
on the needs of our clients.
National practice groups and specialist networks—Three
national legal practice groups oversee the quality and consistency
of our legal services and products. These groups—Commercial,
Litigation and Dispute Management, and Government—concentrate
on developing our lawyers’ skills and talents, and
the product and service lines that are geared to meet the
existing and emerging needs of our clients. National specialist
networks also support the needs of those working in areas
of significant speciality, including tax and excise, trade
practices, customs and migration. National

National client networks—Client service arrangements
are tailored to each client. National client service managers,
and their network of local client service managers, look
after the needs of each client to ensure we are aware of
the client’s requirements, and that we apply ourselves
nationally to respond to them. National

National network of delivery teams—We provide
dedicated service to our clients at a local level through
our offices in each capital city. Each office plays a vital
role in servicing the legal needs of major government departments,
agencies and businesses as well as locally based agencies.
All offices are supported by a national, integrated information
technology service. Our national reach enables our lawyers
to deliver high quality legal services reliably, efficiently
and at prices that represent value for our clients all over
Australia. Click on the menu to the left to connect with

Corporate support—The AGS corporate group,
which includes the CEO, supports clients and service delivery
to them at the national level. This group is based in Canberra.
It conducts corporate planning activities that focus on our
business objectives; supports the development of our relationships
with clients; sets financial management policies, systems
and benchmarks; sets legal practice standards, policies and
systems; designs the national framework for developing our
capability through our people; and designs and maintains
information technology solutions to serve our clients well. National
