Welcome to the Australian Government Solicitor—or AGS
as we are widely known—the nation’s leading lawyers
to government.
We have been providing legal services to government
for 100 years, and converted to a government business enterprise
in
1999.
AGS is a fully
commercial and competitive law firm. We act for departments
and agencies,
and for entities in which the Australian Government has
an interest, domestically and internationally. We also act
for
state and
territory government organisations at their request. We
do not generally act for private sector individuals or organisations.
