Senior General Counsel

Helen is a highly-regarded adviser on constitutional and administrative law, with particular expertise in environmental and natural resources law. She advises Australian Government agencies on complex statutory interpretation issues and legislative reform.

She has worked closely with clients on major legislative reform projects in employment law, health law, maritime law and environmental law. She has advised on Commonwealth–State initiatives in environmental law, such as bilateral agreements for environmental assessment and approval, and on strategic management of legal risk in major project approvals.

Helen’s outposted roles have enhanced a strong focus on client service and she is the Client Service Manager for the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. She is an experienced presenter of training for Australian Government agencies and has also been a lecturer in subjects including constitutional law.
