Senior Executive Lawyer

Louise is a Senior Executive Lawyer in the Dispute Resolution Administrative Law team. She joined AGS in 2008 and, after acting as a Senior Executive Lawyer from August 2024, she was permanently appointed to the role in September 2025.

Louise practises principally in information law matters, including those involving the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth), the Archives Act 1983 (Cth), the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and secrecy provisions. She regularly represents Commonwealth clients in Administrative Review Tribunal proceedings. Louise specialises in supporting Commonwealth agencies in securing nationally sensitive information from disclosure. She is also a trusted adviser for Commonwealth clients in applications for review of decisions under the Administrative Decisions (Judicial Review) Act 1977 (Cth).

Louise brings deep understanding of the experience of in-house lawyers, having acted as General Counsel for several Commonwealth agencies in outpost/secondment roles. She has also worked in the Corporate Advisory function at AGS where she assisted with the identification and management of professional and ethical risk relating to AGS’s legal practice. As an accredited legal trainer, Louise designs and delivers training on a range of information law topics (at AGS agency and calendar training events) and regularly presents at AGS events.
