Sam leads the AGS Employment team. He connects AGS practitioners with clients to resolve complex disputes. In his own practise, Sam advises Commonwealth departments and agencies on all aspects of employment law. He assists organisations with meeting their employment and industrial relations objectives through the course of the employment relationship.
Sam’s practice includes advisory work on legal compliance, managing engagement, performance and termination of workers, advising on disciplinary matters, defending employment related claims, responding to public interest disclosures, developing industrial relations strategies and enterprise bargaining, and acting for workplace regulators in the enforcement of employment laws.
Prior to AGS, Sam practiced in the private sector for over 13 years at international law firms advising on domestic and multi-jurisdictional employment and work health and safety (WHS) matters. Sam has a speciality in WHS, and holds a Masters of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Sam is also an Adjunct Lecturer in OHS at the School of Medical and Health Sciences at Edith Cowan University where he assists with the undergraduate and post graduate OHS law courses.
