Refreshed Perth office now open

28 April 2026

The AGS Perth office has relocated from level 21 to level 39 of the Exchange Tower. Working closely with Perth-based designers and builders, the relocation team delivered a space that reflects Western Australia’s distinctive character, evident in the colour palette chosen throughout the office and the glazing graphics that draw inspiration from Perth’s topography. AGS also partnered with the Whadjuk Aboriginal Corporation to work collaboratively on naming the new meeting spaces.

The Australian Government Solicitor, Matthew Blunn, formally opened the new office on 31 March. In his opening remarks, Matthew said the relocation was about more than upgraded facilities. ‘This new space reflects our continued commitment in Western Australia, to our people and to the relationships we value with our clients and partners across the state,’ he said. ‘Inspired by the landscape and history of Western Australia, the office has been thoughtfully designed to support collaboration, wellbeing and the delivery of high-quality legal work.’

AGS has a long-standing presence in Western Australia. Since the first Commonwealth Crown Solicitor opened in Perth in 1942, the office has worked alongside state and Commonwealth institutions on matters of significance – across commercial, property and dispute resolution work – and on litigation that has helped shape Australian public law.

The relocation follows 18 months of planning and delivery by a range of people across the Attorney-General’s Department. Thanks are extended to everyone involved for their contribution to the successful move.
